XYZ GROUP

The XYZ group meets on the third Tuesday of each month for fellowship and education activites. Although we think of ourselves as the “older adult group”, and our activities, being held in mid-day are primarily geared to retirement age folks, the invitation is open to anyone in the congregation to join us in our group events and to bring friends.

XYZ August News

        Please join us for good fellowship and good food at our traditional August picnic catered by Bullock’s Restaurant. The date is Tuesday, August 19, beginning at 12:30 PM. The new location this year is at the farm home of Dot and Gary Saville. Actually, we’ll be in their barn, a popular place where they host events of this kind!
        The Bullock’s menu is fried chicken with cole slaw, baked beans, lemonade and iced tea and those special Bullock pies. Extra pies will be “auctioned off” to provide some needed funding for our activities. We like the fun auctioning method that was introduced by John Graybeal some years ago. The unique thing about it is that everyone in the group has the opportunity to contribute not just the person with the highest bid who actually gets the pie!
        Please make your reservation by getting a check for $10.00 to the church office by Monday, August 11. Write the check to our treasurer, Charles Izard, and mark it “for XYZ picnic”.
