On February 4th, the Westminster Church of the Brethren held its annual Souper Bowl Luncheon, which featured homemade soups, breads, and desserts plus silent and live auctions and service sales.  This event is sponsored by the Fundraising Team and raised over $2000 for the church budget, the Deacons' Fund which provides money to those in need, and Shepherd's Spring Outdoor Ministry, a camp near Hagerstown.  There are still spaces available for the Fall Time Dinner offered at this event.  Sign up in the library.

In addition to raising money, the event provides great fellowship!

People who came to see the gingerbread creations donated money to vote for their favorites.  Various agencies and businesses provided additional grants.  In all, the Festival raised almost $8000 for the homeless.  Many people from Human Services and Westminster Church of the Brethren donated time to work at the Festival.
