Each year St. Paul's United Church of Christ and Westminster Church of the Brethren combine their congregations for a Service in the Park. This takes place the Sunday before Labor Day in Belle Grove Square, the park located between the two churches. This year St. Paul's was responsible for the service and cookies afterwards while Westminster Church of the Brethren provided drinks to go with the cookies.
Representatives of both churches read portions of the Bible passage for the day. Pastor Marty of St. Paul's gave a sermon on caring for the Earth and Pastor Glenn of Westminster acted as worship leader. Liz Haff led the Children's Time, and at the end of the service Marilyn Ebaugh and Becky Jarboe released monarch butterflies they had raised. Jane Dennis played the keyboard and Ronald Douglass led singing during the service.
