The Church of the Brethren has long recognized the inherent worth of all human beings. We hear the call of our faith to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with a loving God. Racism is a concern as we strive to love both God and neighbor.
We acknowledge that we have not done all we can to eliminate racism, both overt and subtle; and as a congregation, we commit ourselves individually and as a diverse body to build genuine relationships with a diversity of people, to develop a deeper understanding of systemic racism, and to advocate for an end to racial injustice.
We invite all who read this statement of faith and commitment to join us in the journey toward ending racial injustice in our community, our state, and our nation.
