Discernment Scripture for July 25

The Discernment (Visioning) Team encourages all of you to join them by praying at 8:00 PM every evening for the work of the team, for the congregation and for guidance as we continue our journey of discernment and renewal. Pray with an open and listening spirit. Resist the temptation to tell God what you think should happen.

Also, pray over and listen for God as you read the scripture for the week which is Hebrews 10:24-25. :

In response to all he has done for us, let us outdo each other in being helpful and kind to each other and in doing good.
Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.

Vacation Bible School 2010

Another Vacation Bible School has come and gone. The week went by quickly. This year we partnered with our friends at St. Paul’s UCC. We thank them for teaming with us to pull off a fun week of VBS. It was a good experience. Thank you to those from our congregation who helped make it a successful week. Those who helped were: Planning Team members – Marsha Larrick, Norma Jean Swam, Melissa Shaffer, Crafts -Laura Cleveland, Snacks – Pat Ecker and Lois Weaver, Music – Julie Hollenberg, Games – Lewis Latane′, and Crew Leader – Diana Latane′. The whole week was based on bible stories of heroes whom we seldom hear about at church. We had nearly 30 children from both churches and the community attend. Surely their young lives were touched by God through the helpers and the activities of the week.
